麻豆原创 has lots of support and information for registered managers. We round up what鈥檚 available to help you.

Registered managers are at the heart of their organisation. Effective management contributes to higher-quality services and happier teams.

We know that registered managers find their roles incredibly rewarding, but it’s a role that can also be complex and challenging.

That’s why we have a range of support available to keep mangers up-to-date with new ideas and best practice, and to provide opportunities for networking and building professional relationships.

Networks

Peer support is vital for registered managers.

麻豆原创’s local networks provide an opportunity for managers to come together with peers in their local area, to discuss current issues and share learnings. This can help people to feel accepted, understood and less isolated in their roles. 97% of managers would recommend joining their registered manager or deputy manager network.

As well as providing a safe space to chat and connect, network meetings also host guest speakers and different events providing opportunities for managers to learn about new topics and gain new skills and insights.

Facebook group

麻豆原创 also hosts a social care managers Facebook group, open to all registered managers and front-line managers in similar roles. This group is another safe space for managers to share peer support, insights and guidance with other managers across England.

Membership

麻豆原创’s registered manager membership offer provides registered managers with access to exclusive resources and information, including a printed copy of our ‘Social care manager’s handbook’, and a monthly newsletter, which offers practical information and guidance for managers. Members also get exclusive access to the Good and outstanding care guide (Single Assessment Framework version), providing a comprehensive overview on the recent changes to Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

Members have the opportunity get involved with mentoring, either by training to become a mentor or by receiving mentoring. Both providing and receiving mentoring is something which managers find beneficial in learning from others and developing their own skills and confidence.

Webinars

Our registered manager webinars are presented live to a virtual audience, and recordings are available on our website.

These regular webinars cover many issues which are vital for managers to stay on top of. This includes managing a service, managing people, recruitment and retention, and wellbeing. We currently have over 30 recorded webinars available on our website.

Recent webinars have focused on involving people in care planning, integration, the new CQC inspection, providing evidence to the CQC and digital technology.

The care exchange podcast

Our popular 'The care exchange’ podcast, now in its fourth series, is an opportunity for registered managers to hear from others in the same role about a variety of issues impacting managers. Registered managers also have the opportunity to appear as a guest on the podcast to share their insights and experiences.

Previous guests have discussed issues including how to create a good recruitment journey, how to achieve an Outstanding rating, and the importance of compassionate leadership.
