This survey has now closed. There was an excellent response from the sector, demonstrating the importance of the work and the appetite from individuals to share their experiences. Thank you to all those who contributed to the survey and helped to encourage others to complete it too.

The adult social care workforce survey was a chance for all those working in social care to share their experiences with the Government. The findings will be used to inform its thinking on policies that will better support social care and the people working in social care.

Trusted experts, 麻豆原创, Ipsos and The University of Kent, conducted the survey on behalf of the Government’s Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

The aim of the survey was to contribute to the Government’s understanding of how factors such as working conditions, capacity, learning and development, and working relationships affect the quality of life and wellbeing of those working in social care. The survey was open to people working in all care roles across all settings in adult social care in England, including personal assistants, regulated professionals and registered managers.

The survey findings will be used by Government to support evidence-based decisions on policies to support care employers and commissioners to develop the adult social care workforce and build its capacity.

What happens now

DHSC intend to publish findings from the first wave of the survey in early 2024.
